HTTP / HTTPS Proxy Checker
Free HTTP and HTTPS proxy checker with auto-detection, geo lookup, ASN/ISP info, network type and anonymity level. Up to 5,000 lines per session, no signup.
What's detected on each check
- Status — does it respond, with specific error reason if not (407, timeout, refused, etc.)
- External IP — the IP a target site sees when connecting through this proxy
- Geo — country, city, coordinates
- ASN, ISP — autonomous system and provider
- Network type — Datacenter / Residential / Mobile
- Anonymity — Elite / Anonymous / Transparent (HTTP proxies often forward
X-Forwarded-For) - Static vs Rotating — detected via probe sequence
- Ping and response time
HTTP vs HTTPS — which to choose
An HTTP proxy only handles HTTP traffic and forwards everything in plain text. An HTTPS proxy (CONNECT tunnel) opens a TCP tunnel through which encrypted TLS traffic flows — the browser sees the destination as a normal HTTPS site. For end users on the web, the difference is mostly invisible: ProxyLab auto-detects the type. More — SOCKS5 vs HTTP vs HTTPS.
Supported formats
ip:portip:port:login:passwordlogin:password@ip:portip:port@login:passwordhttp://login:password@ip:porthttps://login:password@ip:port
Host can be either an IPv4 address or a domain name — both work.
How to check HTTP / HTTPS proxies
- Open the homepage, "Check proxies" mode is the default
- Paste your list — formats can be mixed
- Click "Check" — results stream in
- Use the Working/Dead/Unrecognized tabs to filter
- Download working as .txt or share via a 24-hour link
Common reasons a proxy fails
- 407 Proxy Authentication Required — wrong login/password
- Timeout — proxy is unresponsive or very slow (12s threshold)
- Connection refused — port is closed or proxy is down
- 403 / 429 — geo API blocks the proxy (the proxy itself may still work on other sites)
